LAST YEAR, MCDONALD’S brought out a McMór burger with Ballymaloe relish and Charleville cheese.
Now KFC are getting on that bandwagon.
They’ve just introduced the O’Sanders burger specially for Ireland
It’s available for the foreseeable future, and it contains:
Original recipe chicken, in an Irish Pride bun, with onion rings, cheese slice with Cork Cheddar and a BBQ sauce
So you’ve got the Irish Pride bun and the Cork cheddar, but:
KFC has released an ad about it too – and they openly admit that it’s not really Irish
It’s an official apology to the Irish people for Americans claiming things are Irish – and the self-awareness is strong in this description:
The KFC O’Sanders burger is the latest in a long line of things coming from America and claiming to be Irish
apart from the Cork cheddar and the Irish Pride bun, there’s nothing really Irish about it
They know.
As part of the O’Sanders menu, they’ve also introduced Cheese & Onion fries
The tagline?
it’s Irish-ish
At least they’re not going for the big sell.
