YESTERDAY, WHILE FILMING an Instagram Live, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian used the word ‘retard’ in a move which, unsurprisingly, caused offence to many watching.
During a technical blip in transmission, the sisters bickered back and forth off-camera, with Kourtney saying:
Yes you can, you f*****g retard.
Later, Khloé repeated similar sentiments during the same exchange with her older sister.
Are you f*****g retarded?
In the hours that followed the Instagram Live, one of Khloé’s fans called her out on Twitter, telling her she stopped watching after the word was used.
Fair enough; we’re sure she wasn’t the only one viewer who chose to do so.
I was watching your livestream on Instagram until you said the “r” word. You should pay more attention to your word choices especially since you have a huge following&don’t know who you could be offending. If True had a disability you would use a different word. @khloekardashian

Khloé was reminded of the word’s impact, with the Twitter user arguing that it wouldn’t be part of her vocabulary if her daughter, True, had been born with a disability.
The 34-year-old responded to the criticism, expressed surprise that she had used the word considering the fact she ‘hated’ it, and then apologised unreservedly.
Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that? You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! 😞 much love today

And that was all it took for Khloé’s fans to fall all over themselves.
Seriously, it seems – as far as they were concerned – if you want a good apology, you turn to Khloé Alexandra Kardashian.
We mean, just take a look at how impressed they were by the fact she apologised for using an offensive term after being called out on it, which surely was the only appropriate response given her platform.
We’ll let them take it from here…
That is how you apologize. Own your mistake, no excuses, apologize, and do better. 💯

Love this KoKo! Takes a big person to admit when they’re wrong! I cringe at myself when I say that word too and get mad with myself & it makes me sad when I’ve used it! We all make mistakes from time to time but at least you can admit it! ❤️ #Kardashian love 💕

You’re response @khloekardashian is nothing, but professional and shows respect. Words slip and we don’t mean it, but owning up to a mistake is huge. You are beautiful inside & out and always will be. ❤️ - Michael Alexander

As a Mother of a child with Autism let me just say Bravo to you for owning it and apologizing & not just ignoring the tweet. I’m proud of you! Love & blessings to you and baby True❤️

And let’s hope that that’s the last time she uses it.
