Kidnapper releases little boy because he wouldn't stop singing gospel music
WERE YOU PAYING attention during Sister Act the other night? The music could come in handy in future, if this story is anything to go by.
Nine-year-old Willie Myrick was kidnapped outside his home in the US city of Atlanta and driven around for three hours until he was finally let go.
But why did the kidnapper release him?
A huge fan of gospel music, Willie sang the gospel song Every Praise over and over until the man finally cracked and kicked him out.
Willie told USA Today the man cursed and told him to shut up before letting him go:
Willie’s story soon reached Grammy-winning gospel singer Hezekiah Walker, who performed the song Every Praise.
He joined the boy and his family at their local church, where they sang the song together.
Walker said:
Aw. We’re just glad little Willie’s home safe.
