Who is Boo George, the Wicklow photographer who shot Kim Kardashian's latest cover?
IN BETWEEN BEING a new mother for the third time and eating noodles naked, Kim Kardashian found time to make the cover of Elle Magazine for the first time.
The cover was shot by Boo George, who has previously worked with Louis Vuitton, and hails from Bray, Co. Wicklow.
He’s also previously shot Victoria Beckham for Spanish Vogue, and Emily Ratajkowski for denim line DL 1961 Denim.
(Victoria Beckham channeling 2fm DJ Tara Stewart’s bathroom selfie pose here, clearly).
Boo’s career began in the Wicklow mountains, before he went on to study photography in Middlesborough. He spent his final year traveling around to complete his photography projects, culminating with nine days on a fishing trawler in the North Sea.
The photographer won ‘The Shot 2013’, an International Centre of Photography and W magazine-sponsored competition to find the next generation of fashion photographers.
Since then Boo’s pictures have taken him across the globe including diamond mines in Zambia, boxing rings in Cuba, safaris in Tanzania, private islands in Brasil, the mountains of Chechnya, the urban sprawl of Hong Kong and the deserts of Australia.
Boo’s commercial clients had previously included Emporio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Levi’s, Louis Vuitton, Erdem, Calvin Klein, among many others.
… But he has never forgotten home, as the below shots will attest to.
