Kim Kardashian is convinced that Kylie Jenner is a 'self-made' billionaire
SO IT SEEMS like we’re still arguing about the definition of the term ‘self-made’. The debate was sparked into life last week when Kylie Jenner appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine as she was proclaimed the youngest self-made billionaire as her cosmetics company is set to be worth $1 billion by her 21st birthday in August.
Not bad, not bad at all.
The issue of course is that a fair few people have pointed out that Kylie can’t exactly be described as ‘self-made’. At least that’s what the people who make the dictionary were saying.
Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes.
Well her older sister Kim Kardashian has hit back at Kylie’s critics insisting that their parents never gave any of the famous siblings anything except advice.
Speaking to Refinery29 Kim said that coming from the family they come from doesn’t guarantee success.
I mean there is an argument to be made that coming from immense privilege gives you one hell of an advantage over people who don’t have those same opportunities. Of course, Kylie can’t help the family she was born into but you can see why people might disagree with the definition of ‘self-made’.
Kim isn’t having that argument either though.
Fair enough.
Kim also stressed that Kylie should be proud of herself for what she’s managed to do in such a short space of time and how she’s managed to turn ‘an insecurity’ into a successful business.
Sure look, we all have to start somewhere right?
