Kim Kardashian ate the head off a songwriter on Twitter after he came for Kanye West

Rhymefest and Kim are butting heads in a seriously public way.

RHYMEFEST MIGHT NOT be a name you’re familiar with, so before we get a plethora of ‘WHO?’ in the comments, I’ll let you in on a little secret. He’s a songwriter. An extremely successful songwriter, at that. He also does a great deal of charity in Chicago.

Rhymefest co-wrote songs like Jesus Walks, and the Oscar-winning Glory. Rhymefest aka Che Smith, is also a hip hop artist in his own right, and is the co-founder of Kanye West’s nonprofit Chicago youth development foundation, Donda House (named after Kanye’s mother, Donda West).

Rhymefest is close to Kanye, the pair met when they were 15 in Chicago and have obviously worked together a lot. So it was surprising yesterday when he tweeted that Kanye had ‘abandoned’ Chicago.

It all began last Friday when Drake released a diss track Duppy Love. In it, he went for Pusha-T and Kanye. Rhymefest then piped up, asking Drake to help the part of Chicago that Kanye has abandoned.

Kim was having NONE of it and immediately hit back in a series of tweets

Yes, she knows she spelled leveraging wrong

‘Sub-par beats’. Ouch.

Er Kim, think that might be enough now. But not before one final dig.

People were quick to explain that Rhymefest is the man who won an Oscar and co-wrote one of Kanye’s most successful songs, but sure.

Che responded to Kim one final time, and she’s yet to come back on it

Che says Kanye came to him for help on the album, not the other way around. He was asked to do more for Donda’s House, but was too busy working on the album. He also asked Kim why she is speaking when she has never paid a visit to, and invited her to do the work herself by showing up next weekend.

Donda’s House also announced they would be changing their name, so maybe it’s too late

Oh dear, what a mess
