11 reasons The Kingfisher is a beloved Northside institution
LAST WEEK CAME the sad news that the Parnell Street institution, the Kingfisher restaurant, had been almost completely destroyed in a fire.
A firm Northside favourite, the cafe is a hub of activity for both locals and visitors, and will be sadly missed as repairs get underway.
The good people at the Kingfisher told DailyEdge.ie that on the cusp of celebrating their 40th anniversary, the fire was a dreadful blow, but that they’ll “begin the process of rebuilding soon and hopefully it won’t be too long before they’re up and running again!”.
With that spirit in mind, here’s why we need it back ASAP…
1. Those delicious fries
2. Like, is there a better breakfast on the Northside?
3. The Kingfisher’s famous fish and chips
4. And the desserts
5. It’s a hit with the locals
6. And the tourists
7. And everyone, really
8. The smiling staff
