EACH WEEK, WE’LL be taking a peek into some of our faves’ makeup bags to see their must-have products, because we’re nosy. This week, it’s the turn of makeup artist Laoise McGinn. You can follow her on Instagram here.
Her earliest makeup memories
“My earliest makeup memories are definitely of watching my mum applying her makeup everyday and being completely fascinated by it all.
Another memory that stands out is being age 10/11 and having learned about highlighting from America’s Next Top Model, I used some rollerball shimmer shadow I had found on my cheeks going into school and being absolutely morto when my friends were asking what was on my face.
“My signature look has slightly evolved through time but it always always includes a wing, I truly don’t feel like myself without a feline flick and glowy skin and I always use cruelty free products too! That’s super important to me.
Her makeup bag and what’s inside
“Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in ‘Pillow Talk’ is always in my handbag somewhere and is definitely my desert island makeup product. It’s basically lip fillers in pencil form, the perfect shade for over lining – I even like to wear this on my days off with just some lip balm.
“Morphe Continuous setting mist - I’m only using this the last few months but honestly if I could bathe in this I would, I spray my face with with this before during and after my makeup, it really helps take away any look of being too ‘powdery’ and gives you the most radiant glow. The mist is so fine and the smell is definitely the nicest of any setting spray I’ve used.
“I go crazy if I don’t have a lip balm on hand at all times, recently my favourite one is the this Lush one, it’s so deeply nourishing and doesn’t just sit on the surface like other lip balms do.
“This Fenty Beauty highlighter is one of my favourites, I especially love that there’s 2 shades so you can only have a light glow or you can have a blinding highlight, whichever you fancy.
“My favourite lashes are from SoSu by Suzanne Jackson - I always get at least 10 wears from them.
A little hack I’ve discovered is keeping lashes in the yolk from a Kinder Egg, I always probably look like a mad woman cause I have so many of these in my handbag! But it’s definitely the best way to keep them safe.”
