Thankfully, last night's Late Late Valentine's Special delivered on the cringeworthy moments
THE NOW-NOTORIOUS LATE Late Show Valentine’s Special took place last night, and it’s basically become the Toy Show for adults.
It all kicked off with Whigfield performing her classic banger, Saturday Night (on a Friday night, in February).
While the audience got wasted, Kenneth Branagh read Shakespeare to camera, and Vogue and Spencer played Mr and Mrs, the true highlight of the show was the dating segment.
It was basically Blind Date without the blindness. One hundred percent of the cringe remained.
One er, lucky, woman Kelley was presented with a few bachelors, and free to make her choice.
While there were plenty of pre-rehearsed flirty lines being thrown about, it was James who made the biggest impression on the audience.
How? Well, he immediately launched into serenading the young one with Shallow, from A Star is Born.
Anyone: H-
James: I’M OFF THE DEEP END, WATCH AS I DIVE IN.

Weirdly enough, it won James a seat along with the other suitors, but he didn’t stop there.

He immediately started singing Niall Horan’s Slow Hands when attention was back on him.
This time he was met with a mix of boos and cheers from the audience, so perhaps thought it wise to stop.
Unfortunately, James wasn’t picked. Ross was the favoured choice and announced he’d be going to Coppers with his date at the end of the show.
Another license fee well spent.
