Who was the best Late Late Show host?
ON THIS DAY in 1962, the Late Late show was broadcast for the first time. And would you believe it was the first time Irish television ran past midnight as well?
Gay Byrne launched the show, and remained the host for 37 years. He was replaced by Pat Kenny in 1999, and then Ryan Tubridy took the helm in 2009. But who did it best?

The original… But is he the best?
Gay gave us so much. Not least the phrase, “Roll it there…” (Depending on your vintage, you’ll remember it as either Colette or Roisin.)

It’s hard to dislike a man who gave us a moment this good. And yet Kenny has his fair share of haters. What’s the deal? Give Pat some love.
Ryan Tubridy
Ah, the Toy Show certainly has taken on a different tone since Tubridy took the helm. Unusual to decide sneering at children is the best presenting move to make.

And just for old time’s sake… Look at that owl go!
