Lego is a 'tool of Satan', warns Polish priest

Fr Slawomir Kostrzewa says a new line of Lego characters refer “directly to Satanism”.

A POLISH PRIEST has warned parents against buying Lego for their children, saying that its latest versions can destroy children’s souls and “leave them on the dark side”.

Fr Slawomir Kostrzewa told mothers and fathers in the town of Wolsztyn that Lego was a “demonic” toy, alongside My Little Pony and Pokemon.

He added that today’s Lego “refers directly to Satanism”, Super Express reports.

Fr Kostrzewa’s quarrel is with a new line of Lego called Monster Fighters. It includes a vampire, several zombies and ghosts, a werewolf and a swamp creature.

This represents a change from the Lego of the past, Fr Kostrzewa told Super Express:

Until recently, they were a very desirable toy because of the educational value and aesthetic. In the latest series of blocks darkness dominates, and references to the world of death appear as natives of horror movies. Friendly fellows replaced by dark monsters!

He said this would negatively affect the development of children. Fr Kostrzewa also reportedly said that Hello Kitty promotes the pornography industry.

Lego have yet to comment publicly on the claims.
