Leo Varadkar was at the Pixies gig last night and posed for a photo with the lead singer
LAST NIGHT, PIXIES played in Trinity College to a packed out crowd.
Among those in attendance at the concert was none other than Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, who was spotted backstage at the concert and got to pose for a photo with Pixies frontman Black Francis.
There he is now.
Pixies shared the photo on Twitter and Instagram, apparently chuffed at being able to count the Taoiseach (or ‘Irish PM’) among their fans.
Unfortunately we weren’t treated to any footage of Varadkar dancing as we were when Enda Kenny attended Bruce Springsteen’s Croke Park show last year. Leo strikes us more as a “hands in his pockets, sipping his beer” kind of guy anyway.
Whoops!
We couldn't find this Tweet
Leo has expressed his fondness for the group before. Here he is sharing lyrics from Monkey Gone To Heaven ahead of their show in Marlay Park in June 2014.
He got into them through Fight Club, you see. (The band’s song Where Is My Mind? is featured in the film.)
