Woman writes in to newspaper to correct grieving woman's grammar

How kind.

GRAMMAR IS IMPORTANT. There’s no two ways about it. But there is a time and a place for pedantry, as this woman has proved.

In a bit of fastidiousness gone mad, Mrs H Marjorie Gill wrote in to the Yorkshire Times to complain about what she perceived as bad grammar in an article.

Except the article concerned a woman who had recently lost a baby.

Mrs Gill wrote:

Speaking about the heartbreak over the loss of her baby, Mrs Pratt says “No words can describe how devastating it was for Chris and I” when it should have read “for Chris and me”.

We’re guessing empathy, unlike grammar, is not Marjorie’s strong suit.
