LILY ALLEN WAS not impressed with the line-up announcement for this year’s Wireless festival in London.
The festival’s headliners include J. Cole, Stormzy and DJ Khaled. But when you take them, and all the other men off the poster, it paints a pretty grim picture.

Allen tweeted the edited poster with the caption:
The struggle is real.”
When someone reached out to her about what she meant by the tweet, she laid it out plainly.
[The problem is] That wireless have booked 3 women over 3 days of festival.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t a new problem, and it’s not one unique to the UK. Last year’s Longitude featured 12 female artists – out of 47.
Fourteen of the 42 acts featured on the Electric Picnic poster last year were women.

Lily went on to discuss the issue further, alleging the lack of female representation on the festival circuit is another reason women in the music industry are not coming forward with their #MeToo experiences.
