Lily Allen has opened up about her identity crisis and says she was bullied into doing the John Lewis advert in 2013
LILY ALLEN IS known for being candid about her life and struggles.
In a recent interview with Vulture she opened up about struggling to be a musician and a mother simultaneously and having to fight against everyday sexism within the her industry.
She addressed her frustrations with working under a major label who seemed to want to control her rather than let her express herself creatively.
She also spoke about her struggles with motherhood saying that she cannot do a proper tour in America but that she’s willing to take the hit commercially because that’s just the way it is.
Allen also spoke candidly about her last album Sheezus which flopped and the impact of that had on her mental health.
She also revealed that she didn’t want to do the John Lewis advert which brought her back to our attention in 2013 after 4 years.
She admitted that in the midst of her identity crisis, she cheated on her ex husband Sam Cooper and lost pretty much everything.
Allen is about to release a new album called ‘No Shame’ on June 8th which is set to address her post natal depression, identity crisis and the last few years which has been turbulent to say the least. No doubt that it’ll be worth a listen.
