THE LITTLE BOY who went set off an online manhunt has finally been found.
The young child was pictured wearing a makeshift Messi jersey made out of a plastic bag, and quickly went viral in an effort to find him and get the attention of footballer Lionel Messi himself.
Well, the internet came through once again, and the boy has been identified as five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi who lives in Afghanistan.
The fan’s cousin Azim Ahmadi posted more photos of the boy online, and was soon contacted by Messi’s agent to set up a meeting.
The Afghan Football Federation are helping to make the little kid’s dream come true.
CNN spoke to the boy’s father Arif, who said that he brother fashioned the jersey out of a plastic bag after he started crying that the family could not afford a real one.
