WITH PRAISE FOR Lady Bird still ringing in her ears, Greta Gerwig has reportedly now set her directorial sights on the remake of Little Women.
Back in 2016, Greta joined Columbia Picture’s adaptation of Little Women and initially rewrote the script’s first draft.
Then Lady Bird landed.
And with that, Sony realised that Oscar-nominated Greta was the only one for the Little Women director’s chair.
But that’s not all.
If it comes to pass, the project will herald a reunion with two Lady Bird stars as Saoirse Ronan and her former co-star Timothee Chalamet are currently in talks for casting.
Oh, and did we mention the trio are likely to join Meryl Streep and Emma Stone on set, with both actresses interested in the re-telling of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel?
We know, it literally sounds too glorious to be true.
Considering the calibre of talent set to take on the project, Twitter is having an absolute field day in the wake of reports.
I think it might be the greatest cast ever assembled.
