Lohan accused of assault after attack at rehab clinic
TROUBLED ACTRESS Lindsay Lohan has been accused of assault by a member of staff at the famous Betty Ford Centre, where she is currently undergoing a stint in rehab.
Dawn Holland, a staff member at the centre, told website TMZ that Lohan and two roommates had snuck out of the centre to attend a party on Sunday December 12, and that she was attacked when she tried to accost them on their return.
Reportedly smelling alcohol on Lohan’s breath, Holland tried to call police, but claimed that the 24-year-old actress ripped the phone from her hand, spraining it.
Police responded on the incident, and Holland indicated her intent to press charges relating to the incident; though no arrests were made, police say they are investigating the matter.
Lohan has been at the clinic since September, as part of her probation for a drunk driving case that saw her jailed earlier this year. She is required to remain at the centre until January 3 as part of the terms of her sentencing.
Holland has been fired from the Betty Ford Centre nonetheless, for violating the centre’s strict confidentiality rules. TMZ reports that Holland has meanwhile been accused of assault by her husband.
