THERE WAS AN inauspicious start to Chicago’s iconic Lollapalooza festival yesterday, as the first night of headline acts had to be cancelled due to a “weather emergency.”
Lightning strikes nearby cut short Muse’s performance and night one was called off altogether just after Lorde got on stage as the main draw of the night.
But the festival *was* up and running for Liam Gallagher’s… eventful set earlier in the evening
After just three songs, Liam walked off the set halfway through a song – and the crowd weren’t pleased
Holy crap. @liamgallagher just left in the middle of a song. His band finished the song and left too. What??? #Lollapalooza2017 pic.twitter.com/cua9nclijW

It’s hardly the most surprising thing to happen in festival season 2017
Obviously the crowd are aware of the long-running feud with his brother Noel – as this sign was spotted during the performance
There were rumours going around that this was the reason he left
But that’s not the case, as we learned later.
And after Liam departed, the crowd did the inevitable
Hitting Liam where it hurts.
Liam got on Twitter straight away to explain what had happened though
The most popular reply? The woman with the “I <3 U NOEL” poster getting back to him
What an eventful week it’s been for Liam in the US so far.
Let’s hope Lollapalooza has a better second day.
