A school in Lucan bid farewell to their lollipop lady in the most lovely way possible
Facebook Facebook
FEELING A LITTLE bit delicate today? A little sentimental, perhaps?
This video might end you.
Yesterday Josie Brennan marked her last day as a lollipop lady at St. Mary’s BNS in Lucan, Co. Dublin. But if she thought she could slip away quietly, she was dead wrong.
As she finished her last day, students and parents lined the streets to salute Josie one last time, applauding her and hugging her as she hung up her high-vis jacket for the last time after 17 years with the school.

The school shared the video on Facebook and wrote, “The most loved lollipop lady in Ireland retires today. Josie would like to thank all the boys, parents and staff for all the kind wishes and love shown to her. She has kept our boys safe for the last 17 years. Best wishes in your retirement Josie.”
The video has been liked hundreds of times and attracted comments from parents thanking Josie for her service and calling her “a true Lucan legend”.
Wonderful.
