The 6 that shared the Lotto jackpot? One of them has to share it again...
IN AN ASTRONOMICALLY unlikely turn of events, six separate ticketholders shared a €3.5million Lotto jackpot this month.
And one of those will also have to share out their one-sixth share.
The last ticketholder to come forward is actually a six-person syndicate from Cork – meaning that despite getting all six numbers on the €3.5million draw, each member will receive a relatively measly €98,000. (Admittedly not a bad payday, all things considered.)
The Cork sextet bought their ticket in JJ O’Driscoll’s Superstore on the Ballinlough Road using their regular numbers – the same digits they have been playing since the Lotto began in the late 1980s.
Asked what they will do with the money, one anonymous syndicate member said: “We have made no decisions yet; we might go on a nice holiday and treat our families.”
They added: “We will definitely continue playing the Lotto.”
