IF THERE’S ONE person we’d step over our own mothers to have a pint with, it’s Louis Theroux.
Obsessed? Yes. Ashamed of it? No.
But if you heard tell that the man himself was celebrating St Patrick’s weekend in the Tara Vale pub in Ballymoney, Co Wexford, unfortunately you were duped along with the rest of us.
Speaking to DailyEdge.ie, Tanya Tighe said it all kicked off when she spotted the Louis lookalike on Saturday evening, and belted over for a quick chat.
“I went over to him and said ‘Has anyone ever told you you look like someone?’ And in this really tired voice, he goes ‘Louis Theroux’ at the exact same time I said it. His girlfriend said ‘He gets it all the time but he’s a little smaller’.
Knowing her sister is absolutely mad about Louis, Tanya decided to pull a fast one, and asked fake Louis – also known as Cillian – to stand on something and pose for a picture.
I text her the photo and said Louis was drinking with us. She couldn’t believe it and said she was coming straight back down to the pub.
And then Tanya decided to get he man himself involved.
I never really use Twitter anymore but I thought I’d tweet Louis the picture, and I thought nothing more about it. The next morning I woke up and Louis had retweeted it.
And people were definitely here for it.

Unfortunately, Tanya didn’t get Cillian’s contact details and hopes he knows that the real Louis has heard tell of their impromptu photo shoot.
