2FM's Louise McSharry has just given birth to her first child
BROADCASTER LOUISE McSharry has given birth to her first child with husband Gordon Spierin, over a year after receiving the all-clear from cancer.
Earlier today, the 2FM DJ announced the birth of their little boy, named Sam:
McSharry, who documented her treatment for Hodgkins’ Lymphoma in both a frank RTÉ documentary and her book, Fat Chance, was told that she could struggle to conceive naturally.
“Where I should have been at 35 or 40 on the scale of being able to conceive, I was a two,” she said at the time.
Nevertheless, on April 1 of this year, McSharry announced that she was pregnant.
The broadcaster spoke of her delight in “beating the odds”, while also acknowledging the struggle that others face in getting pregnant.
Sam is baby brother to Louise and Gordon’s two adorable cats, Debbie and Dolly:
Congratulations to all!
