Love/Hate caused the single biggest spike in Irish Twitter traffic this year
REMEMBER THIS EPISODE of Love/Hate?
With the Jesus Saves dancing…
Warren’s giraffes…
And Siobhán’s big push?
Well that episode, on 26 October, caused the biggest spike in Irish Twitter traffic, as people took to social media to livetweet their shock, and to come together for a big hug afterwards.
While Love/Hate caused the biggest concentration of traffic, it understandably wasn’t the TV topic that trended most often on Twitter in Ireland. In fact, it was seventh after the likes of Vincent Browne, The Late Late Show and The Great British Bake Off.

Meanwhile Garth Brooks was the top trending Irish news item of 2014, ahead of the budget, local elections or GSOC.
