AFTER A HEAVY weekend, we’d happily take our Sunday night viewing without a dash of hallucination.
Unfortunately, for all of us, Love Island execs didn’t think that one through, and happily allowed footage of a random middle-aged man to make the official cut in the latest episode of the ITV2 show, leaving most of us to believe we needed a week or two on the dry.
While Georgia and Sam hashed out the finer details of what it means to be in a ‘healthy relationship’, viewers’ attention was turned to a bloke in the background, happily taking a dip in the villa’s pool.
He was grey-haired, he was decidedly older than the villa’s demographic, and he didn’t once utter the word ‘loyal’, so naturally he wasn’t about to become one either.
Viewers – God love them – needed a little reassurance from each other that they weren’t the only ones seeing this, and reached out in their moment of need.

Love Island viewers hadn't a notion who the random bloke in the pool was last night
AFTER A HEAVY weekend, we’d happily take our Sunday night viewing without a dash of hallucination.
Unfortunately, for all of us, Love Island execs didn’t think that one through, and happily allowed footage of a random middle-aged man to make the official cut in the latest episode of the ITV2 show, leaving most of us to believe we needed a week or two on the dry.
