MAC COSMETICS IS embracing natural beauty, one Instagram post at a time.
The beauty brand is making waves in the industry with its use of retouched imagery across its socials to show off its products.
The image features the work of makeup artist Matthew King using one of their famous lip pencils in ‘Chestnut’, lining the lips of a model who happens to have some visible lip hair. No biggie.
Some Instagram users commented things like “”What about the mustache on her mouth?” and “Couldn’t Photoshop her whiskers out?”
On the other hand, others were vocal in supporting the brand saying: “To the model: we love and support you.” And “Love this image, keep up the good work, real is best!”
So, to sum up, just in case you’ve forgotten:
- Pores are still a thing, and you’re allowed.
- Hair is still a thing, and you’re allowed to have it.
If MAC can relax on the Photoshop, perhaps it’s time for the public to embrace the ways of a Facetune-less life.
Lip fluff FTW!
