EVERY CHRISTMAS, WHEN WE look back at the seasonal films of yesteryear, we stop and have a little think about Macaulay Culkin.
Where is he now? Is he doing all right?
Well he hasn’t been doing much acting lately, but he has joined a Velvet Underground cover band (he’s in the centre of the picture above) where all the songs have been re-written with references to pizza. They call themselves the Pizza Underground. Imaginative.
Anchovy Warhol. Can it get better? Yes.
They’ve released a 9-track demo of pizza-themed tracks for $1 on Bandcamp – it was recorded live at Macaulay’s house last month. Tracks include I’m Beginning to Eat the Slice, All the Pizza Parties, and Take a Bite of the Wild Slice.
Judging from the photos of the band on their Tumblr, one of the key instruments they use is an empty pizza box.
We’d like to say the late Lou Reed would be happy with this homage. Actually, we’re almost 100% sure he would be DELIGHTED with it. Take a bite of the wild slice, Lou.
