Here's your first look at Maeve Higgins' new comedy, 'Extra Ordinary'

Ready for some spooky goings-on?

THE FIRST TRAILER for Extra Ordinary, starring our own Maeve Higgins, premiered at SXSW Festival this week.

Cool, what’s it about then?

Higgins plays Rose, a driving instructor, and the daughter of a paranormal investigator, who can speak to ghosts. After a childhood incident involving the death of her father Vincent, she avoids supernatural contact.

However, she’s reluctantly brought back to the practice after being hired by Martin Martin (Barry Ward), a widower who needs to exorcise the ghost of his domineering wife from his home.

At the same time, local one-hit-wonder musician Christian Winter (Will Forte) and his wife (Claudia O’Doherty) have their eyes on Martin’s daughter for use in a satanic ritual that might save Christian’s dwindling career.

All very normal carry-on, really.

Written and directed by duo Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman, Extra Ordinary was produced by Katie Holly and Ailish Bracken of Blinder Films.

Fun fact – Higgins actually used a body double for any of the driving bits, as she doesn’t have her full licence.

Somebody who can drive – a man or woman with similar King Charles/Spaniel hair,” she told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.

We still don’t have an exact release date for this yet, but we should be getting it this side of 2019. DailyEdge.ie will keep you posted in the mean time!
