CONGRATULATIONS MALLOW ROUNDABOUT!

You’ve been chosen to appear in the 2015 Roundabouts of the World calendar.

Yes, that’s a real thing.

Kevin Beresford (who calls himself ‘The Lord of the Rings) of the UK’s Roundabout Appreciation Society has bestowed the honour upon the Co Cork feature, praising its:

… explosion of colour and fragrance, coupled with a somewhat erotic stone sculpture featuring two entwined stallions with mounted male figures.

Extolling the Mallow roundabout’s virtues even further Beresford adds:

I personally feel this charming traffic island perfectly sums up what is the epitome of the perfect global gyratory. Roundabouts really do not come much better than this.
