A NEW MALTESERS ad is being praised for its ‘refreshing’ portrayal of people with disabilities – and contains a truly filthy joke.
The ad was launched earlier this week on Channel 4 as part of its Paralympics coverage, and its surprisingly naughty punchline got everyone giggling.
Actress Storme Toolis, who has cerebral palsy, plays a woman gossiping with her mates about a night out with her new boyfriend.
We’re back at his, getting a little frisky. My hands may have been wandering slightly, and then I start having a spasm, which he misinterprets.
And then:
LOL.
The ad went down an absolute treat with viewers, who called on more brands to follow Maltesers’ lead:
Toolis, who has had roles in The Inbetweeners Movie and BBC crime drama New Tricks, told Metro she hopes the ad will encourage people to talk about disability.
Disabilities are part of everyday life and people shouldn’t be scared of it… We have sex, we have urges, and we have nothing to be ashamed of.
