A MAN IN Bermuda is in trouble after causing more than $600 worth of damage to a restaurant door after becoming angry about the price of bacon.
According to The Royal Gazette, Mark Da Costa, whose cousin actually owns the restaurant, smashed a glass door after being charged $3.25 for a plate of bacon.
Da Costa has been a customer of the Paraquet restaurant in Paget for more than 15 years and has admitted to the damage. However, he has pleaded not guilty to causing willful damage as he said the whole thing was an accident.
The 34-year-old told the court in Bermuda:
Nowhere in Bermuda do you pay $3.25 for bacon.
He was released on $1,000 bail and will go on trial on November 19.
