Man charged in probe over nude Scarlett Johansson photos
A FLORIDA MAN has been accused of hacking into the online accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis, in an investigation which includes nude photos of Johansson leaked recently.
Christopher Chaney, 35, has been charged with accessing the personal information of more than 50 people by federal prosecutors in the US.
“Unfortunately, Mr Chaney was able to access nude photos of some of the celebrities and some of them were uploaded on the Internet,” US attorney Andre Birotte Jr said, according to CNN.
CBS reports that Chaney allegedly hacked the email accounts of several targets so that every mail they received was forwarded on to him. He is also accused of offering the materials to celebrity blogs and news websites, in an activity which has been dubbed “hackerazzi”.
Chaney could face up to 121 years in prison if convicted.
According to the LA Times, Chaney is suspected of “mining” tiny details of the celebrities’ lives from their Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as celebrity magazines and websites, to help him crack their passwords.
