Man robs victim - then asks her out on date

The 26-year-old in Pittsburgh allegedly assaulted the women and her mother after the spurned ‘romantic’ gesture.

A PITTSBURGH MAN who robbed a woman and then called her to ask her out on a date is in jail facing charges.

The suspect, John Jardini, is in the Allegheny County Jail after allegedly robbing the woman of $60. Following the incident he then called the woman  twice to ask if she had a boyfriend and if she wanted to go out on a date.

According to KDKA-TV, the woman called the police after receiving the phone calls. The police began tracking down Jardini through his phone records, but before they could locate him Jardini saw the woman and her mother at a local market store.  He assaulted both women and was then arrested on the spot, reported KDKA-TV news station.

Local reactions to the robbery which took place in Carrick, Pittsbugh are ones of shock and disillusion, with one man calling Jardini “stupid” and “dumb”.

Jardini was charged with robbery and assault and held in jail without bail.
