Man shares cage with lioness for five weeks
A UKRAINIAN ZOO owner has recently been reunited with his family after spending five weeks locked in a cage with a lioness.
Oleksander Pylyshenko began living in the enclosure in an attempt to raise money for his private zoo and to raise awareness about the treatment of animals.
Pylyshenko’s family were concerned for his safety during the experiment – not least because the lioness gave birth while he was in the pen. Animals can be at their most dangerous and unpredictable when guarding their young.
It seems that the unusual dynamic worked out well, however: “We established absolute confidence with each other. The predator developed human traits and even enjoyed eating my food – soup and fried potatoes. I learned a lot about animal honesty, sincerity and kindness,” Pylyshenko said, reports For-ua.com.
