Mariah Carey confirms pregnancy

The singer and her television presenter husband had revealed they are expecting a baby.

AMERICAN SINGER MARIAH Carey has confirmed that she and her husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child.

Speaking on the Today Show, Carey said: “Yes, we are pregnant. This is true.”

The 41-year-old singer added:

It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.

Her husband also spoke during the interview in their New York apartment, and said: “The greatest gift on earth is a child”.

The couple did not wish to reveal the baby’s exact due date, but Carey said that it would be “in the Spring” of next year.

The singer also revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage early in her marriage to Cannon.
