TWITTER USER EMILY Cousins decided to try and get to the bottom of one of the most contentious questions of our time. Aldi or Lidl?
Aldi were the first ones in.
Lidl soon arrived to fight their corner.
A GIF battle ensued.
It remained pretty polite.
Before turning into a somewhat embarrassing GIF dance battle.
Oh, the banter was sure had by the people at Aldi and Lidl HQ.
Then one online retailer stepped in and suggested that Marks and Spencer, or one of their posh supermarket rivals Waitrose would be totally incapable of engaging in these kinds of ‘bants’.
Marks and Spencer couldn’t allow that accusation to stand.
They slipped in with a more current meme format than gives and scoffed at the suggestion of being incapable of having a laugh online.
Aside from receiving considerably more favourites than Aldi and Lidl, Marks and Spencer’s victory was confirmed by the number of people who applauded them.
