Mass animals deaths around the world mapped
RECENT REPORTS OF MASS ANIMALS deaths from an increasing number of locations around the world have now been mapped on Googlemaps.
The locations charted include the place where thousands of dead birds were discovered in Arkansas, US, last weekend, as well as dead penguins washing up on the shores of New Zealand.
Animals on the list range from bats and manatees, to pelicans and doves.
Unusual weather patterns in some parts of the world have had a serious impact on feeding patterns, and caused birds and animals to starve to death.
In other places, such as Britain, exceptionally cold weather has killed them.
Reuters reported yesterday that experts say although mass animal deaths are unusual, there are multiple causes which include severe weather and storms, as well as power lines and fireworks. The coincidence of multiple cases of mass deaths occurring over a short period of time were not, they said, apocolyptic signs.
