Mc Donalds pulls ad in the Philippines after Catholic Church anger
A MC DONALDS ad has been hastily pulled from broadcast in the Philippines after the Catholic Church criticised it for sending the wrong message.
The commercial was scrapped after church leaders said it featured young children in an ‘adult-themed’ setting. The ad depicts a boy and a girl of five or six years of age. The girl asks the boy to be her boyfriend, but he rejects her, saying girlfriends are too demanding. However, when the girl says all she wants is fries from Mc Donalds, the boy has a change of heart.
Mc Donalds pulled the ad almost immediately from all television stations after the Catholic Bishops Conference in the Philippines complained.
