MCD warns concert goers to bring their wellies to the Phoenix Park

Tonight’s Snoop Dogg and Swedish House Mafia show is now sold out, and with 50,000 people heading along, it’s going to be muddy.

AS THOUSANDS HEAD to the Phoenix Park today for the second in a series of gigs at the temporary venue concert promoters MCD have asked people to be mindful of the soggy conditions underfoot.

There were reports of some serious mud in the park when the Stone Roses played a comeback gig to around 50,000 fans on Thursday night.

Swedish House Mafia, Snoop Dogg, Tinie Tempah and Calvin  Harris are on the bill for tonight’s show, with gates opening at 3pm.

MCD tweeted today to say that tonight’s show is now completely sold out, and had some footwear advice for those with tickets:

There were complaints after Thursday night’s gig about a long walk back from the venue in the Phoenix Park, and reports that the conditions underfoot were very muddy.

After yesterday’s heavy rain and with another gig taking place tomorrow night with Florence and the Machine and Snow Patrol playing to a sold out crowd, it will be wellies all the way tomorrow too.

If you’re heading along to the show send us your welly and mud pictures to tips@thejournal.ie or you can tweet us @TheJournal_ie.
