McDonald's in the US were caught rapid using these gas viral photos in their ads

A story of one man’s love for his burrito, gone wrong.

EARLIER IN THE summer, a freelance writer named David Sikorski and photographer Kristina Bakrevski went super viral with a set of hilarious photos.

They showed David in a set of engagement photos with a burrito

The internet loved them so much

They were gas.

But as Ad Week and Buzzfeed are reporting now, McDonald’s released an ad campaign that looked very like the viral images

And since the reports came out, McDonald’s has admitted to Buzzfeed that it should never have happened:

This shouldn’t have happened and, with our agency partner, we’re working to find out how it did. We’re reaching out to David Sikorski & Kristina Bakrevski. We apologize to them, their fans and ours.

It was obvious enough to the photographer who shot the originals, as she took to Twitter earlier in the week

But now the campaign has been withdrawn, we can just go back to enjoying one man’s love for his burrito

A true love, untouched by cynicism

As it should be.
