The great story of how two Irish lads snuck into the front row of the McGregor fight with no tickets

They really need to work on security at these things.

IF YOU HAPPENED to stay up until all hours on Sunday morning to watch the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight from Vegas, you might have noticed the camera cutting to three conspicuous young Irish fans going mad as the boxers entered the venue.

Did the lads splash out the guts of $80,000 each for the privilege?

No, they’d just completely blagged their way in – two of them didn’t even have tickets for the fight, never mind VIP front row passes

Brían Grace and Seán Hehir were in Vegas for the week with a few friends to soak up the atmosphere. They didn’t have tickets for the fight, but one of their friends did. So the pair of them decided to see if they could join him in the arena on Saturday night

Brían tells DailyEdge.ie that the friend inside is a “massive MMA fan”:

So we snuck in to see him, and the three of us then snuck into the VIP section, front row.

The pair of them turned up to the MGM Grand early on Saturday to see if there was a chance to make it inside. When there, they saw McGregor’s extended family making their way into the stadium – so just walked inside with them.

Brían then saw a conveniently placed ladder, picked it up, and breezed through the final security door and found his friend who was already in there

They must have thought he had some official maintenance job to be doing inside.

Against all the odds, they’d made it into the MGM Grand for the biggest Irish sporting event of the year – now they just needed to wait

Sure enough, after a while it became obvious that three seats in the front row weren’t going to be taken – so they took their place and were the main focus of the TV cameras as McGregor entered the ring

It was reminiscent of that time two guys blagged their way into McGregor’s last fight in New York - so security might need to start actually checking tickets a little more strictly next time a chancer rocks up to the door.

The fight itself might not have been a success, but Brían and Seán can definitely celebrate their unlikely free ticket to one of the most expensive events of the year.
