Meet the 12-year-old boy who saved his granny from losing her house...
WE’RE GOING TO guess that Janice Sparhawk, 72, already loved her 12-year-old grandson Noah Lamaide. And that was before he saved her house from being seized by the bank.
Using a website he set up himself, Noah raised $10,500 for his grandmother after she fell behind on her mortgage payments in the town of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
According to ABC News, Janice had got into difficulty after paying to put a new roof on the house, which her husband had built and Noah’s mother was born in.
So the schoolboy turned to his website, Noah’s Dream Catcher Network, which he founded in 2010 to help good causes. He wrote:
The website passed the fundraising goal yesterday – almost exactly a month later – after an anonymous donor gave $2,000, Noah’s mother told the Wausau Daily Herald.
“It means a lot to be here in my house. [Noah] is a special boy,” Janice Sparhawk told reporters.
Noah said he didn’t think he was going to make the target at first. “I’m grateful for all the people who donated,” he said. “There’s a lot more good people in the world than I thought.”
