Men's rights activists edited Star Wars: The Last Jedi to remove the female characters and the cast reacted brilliantly

The women-free version of The Last Jedi is just 46 minutes long.

AUSTRALIAN PUBLISHERS PEDESTRIAN.TV discovered that an anonymous user on The Pirate Bay had uploaded a movie called “The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit”.

The anonymous uploader described it as Star Wars without the “silly stuff” and “girlz powah”. Pedestrian.tv offered some examples of what was cut from the film, to make what the creator called the new “Chauvanist Cut” (sic):

  • Most shots showing female fighters/pilots and female officers commanding people around/having ideas.
  • Haldo. “She simply doesn’t exist. Her whole subplot doesn’t exist.”
  • Leia never scolds, questions nor demotes Poe.
  • Wookie eats the Porg, or at least isn’t interrupted in trying to do so.

The person who put it together wrote:

There are plotholes and continuity errors and some cuts are not as smooth as they should be, especially audio transition-wise. But for what it’s worth, it can now at least be viewed without feeling nauseous about most of the terrible big and small decisions they made in this film. Also, at least the intro sequence is now very watchable and actually much cooler without all of Leia’s nitpicking.

Film critic Priscilla Page was one of the first to catch wind of this.

Her initial reaction was as follows:

Yes. This is the most ridiculous thing she has ever seen.

The people behind The Last Jedi also reacted pretty similarly.

And even John Boyega.

Daisy Ridley isn’t on social media, but it’s probably safe to assume she also says “ha, ha, ha, ha, etc.”
