Michael D Higgins dropped into the women's rugby team ahead of their first World Cup match
THE IRISH WOMEN’S rugby team are gearing up for their WRWC 2017 opening game this evening.
They’ll take on Australia in the first clash on their campaign to win the cup on their home soil.
Yesterday, President Michael D Higgins popped up to UCD to wish the team well, and hand out their match jerseys
This is what our lovely little President was up to while Trump was threatening North Korea
He handed each player their jerseys, and the sweetness is just too much
Captain Claire Molloy got a special greeting, while Sabina had a good chat in the background
Claire then presented Michael D with his very own signed jersey
He was only delighted
