Sorkin writes, “I don’t know who Michael Fassbender is and the rest of the world isn’t going to care”, when suggested he take the lead role over Sorkin’s favoured actor, Tom Cruise.
However, when informed that director Danny Boyle was set on Fassbender, he wrote “This used to be an event. I don’t know who Michael Fassbender is and the rest of the world isn’t going to care. This is insane”.
He eventually came around to the idea, saying “F*** it. He’s a great actor whose time has come”. Make up your mind, man. But perhaps most excellently, producer Michael De Luca chimed in, saying he ‘makes you feel bad to have normal sized male genitalia’.
Fassbender famously bared all in the film Shame, but it seems as though he has nothing to feel shame about…
