And also… big, big Marty Mone fan.

The Kerry South TD has only gone and done a version of Marty Mone’s wedding-dancefloor-slaying cult hit Hit The Diff as his election song. And it’s very, very special indeed.

Oh make your vote and pray / That he goes all the way

It’s flat to the mat in his black cap and there’s no time for tae

Oh vote him one, vote him two, vote him any way

Make the diff and vote him in, it’s Michael Healy Rae

It doesn’t seem that Marty Mone is singing the Michael Healy Rae song – his Facebook page credits it to Kerry wedding band Truly Diverse.

Marty Mone, the man himself, is yet to comment on this appropriation of his tune.
