EARLIER THIS WEEK, Michael McIntyre was the victim of a violent attack in North London.
The comedian, who was doing the school run with his two young sons, was mugged by two individuals carrying hammers – an incident which resulted in the theft of his Rolex watch.
And suffice to say, the 42-year-old isn’t feeling particularly warm towards his home city right now.
During his gig in Dublin’s 3Arena last night, Michael addressed the incident, assuring the crowd that while all is well, he’s not exactly mad for London at the moment.
It hasn’t been a great week. But I’m OK. We’re OK .It’s great to be here, in fact I’m moving here, f*** London.
Naturally, the incident had the potential to interfere with the performer’s upcoming gigs, but he assured Irish fans he was delighted he chose to go ahead with his Dublin dates.
I’m going to be honest with you, it was touch and go whether I came here. But I’m so glad I did.
Like any comedian worth their salt, Michael chose to use the harrowing event as prime on-stage fodder, telling the crowd that the platitudes he’s been receiving haven’t exactly helped.
People have been so nice, saying time is a great healer. Yeah but I don’t know what time it is, as I’ve lost my f****** watch.
We see what you did there Michael, we see what you did.
Telling the crowd that he would have appreciated their help during the chaos, Michael said:
I could have done with you lot this week, 9000 Dubliners. Instead I was left to fend for myself. It didn’t go well.
