First openly gay player drafted in the NFL kisses boyfriend live on telly
YESTERDAY , MISSOURI MAN Michael Sam became the first openly gay NFL player to be drafted in the league.
Sam has been selected by the St Louis Rams, and he was told the news with live TV cameras trained on him.
His reaction, and celebration with his boyfriend was shown on ESPN and other news networks.
US President Barack Obama has congratulated the athlete, saying in a White House statement:
Sam and his boyfriend Vito also tweeted about their joy in the wake of the announcement.
