Chicago erects plaque at spot of Obamas' first kiss

The kiss “tasted like chocolate”, apparently.

IT WAS BAD enough having to hear Barack Obama tell Oprah that his first kiss with his future First Lady Michelle “tasted like chocolate”.

Now if you happen to be in Chicago, you are in danger of tripping over a plaque which commemorates the exact spot of that first cocoa-fragranced kiss in 1989. The Chicago Tribune – under the clever headline of ‘XO marks the spot’ – reports that a small plaque has been posted on a stone at the corner of Dorchester Avenue and 53rd Street.

This is the quote from the President, as related to ‘The Oprah Magazine’ in 2007:

On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate.

For the sweet-like-chocolate-boy photo of the plaque, click here. The Baskin-Robbins has now been replaced by a Subway sandwich shop. Oh.
