Mickey Harte for the Áras?
IT IS REPORTED that Tyrone football manager Mickey Harte is facing increasing calls from supporters to run for the presidency in the autumn.
The Sunday World reports that there is an increasing groundswell of support for the idea that the All-Ireland GAA winning manager throw his hat into the ring. Although one source tells the paper the 59-year-old has no intention of running for Áras an Uachtaráin.
Meanwhile, columnist Amanda Brunker has written in the same newspaper that a member of the government was among a number of people who suggested she run for the presidency with the unnamed government member even saying that he’d happily propose her, according to Brunker who dismissed the idea.
If you had to choose, who would you pick to be president? Mickey Harte or Amanda Brunker?
